The Shell Houston Open, one of the premier PGA events for the Gulf Coast area, has provided over $53 Million in charitable donations since 1974 through the Houston Golf Association.
This year’s tournament was held from March 28th through April 3rd at Redstone Country Club in Humble, Texas. Again, through the generosity of The Shell Houston Open and the Houston Golf Association, support for their core charities continued to grow. These charities include: Boys & Girl’s Harbor; Chinquapin School; Star of Hope; Acres Home Youth Association; Cenikor Foundation, Inc.; Interfaith of The Woodlands; and others.
This year, Phil Mickelson won in convincing fashion with an impressive 20-under-par 268 for the tournament. On his way to the 3 stroke victory, he shot a record tying 9-under-par – 63 in the third round.
Behind the scenes, Blue-Stream Services provided over 5MW’s of temporary Power and 400 tons of temporary Air Conditioning. In addition, Blue-Stream provided electrical cable and distribution capacity for various locations to support the video and score boards, merchandising tents, champion’s pavilion, Shell Corporate Suites, and more.
This was the second consecutive year Blue-Stream Services provided temporary Power and Air Conditioning for this project. Once again, Blue-Stream provided flawless performance without any issues. The Tournament Operations Director from the Houston Golf Association commented, “… Your team did an absolutely awesome job for us. We’ve never had it so good.”
