Blue-Stream Services Provides Temporary Utility Services for The 2010 Shell Houston Open Golf Tournament...
The 2010 Shell Houston Open is one of the premier PGA events along the Gulf Coast. The annual PGA showdown was held April 1st through April 4th at Redstone Country Club in Humble, Texas. Through the generosity of Shell, the Houston Golf Association was able to donate thousands of dollars to their core charities.
While the tournament itself ended in dramatic fashion with Anthony Kim winning the event on the first hole of a sudden death playoff, there was no drama when it came to temporary power or air conditioning. Blue-Stream Services made certain the event went as planned in every way possible.
All total, Blue-Stream provided over 4MW’s of temporary Power and 550 tons of temporary Air Conditioning, in addition to electrical cable and distribution capability for various locations to support all the score boards, video boards, PGA merchandise tent, champion’s pavilion, shell suites, and more.
Since this was the first time Blue-Stream Services had performed this project, it was critical to make the best of first impressions. Without a doubt, Blue-Stream succeeded and in the process, earned a two year extension to provide temporary utility support for the 2011 and 2012 events.
The Tournament Operations Director from the Houston Golf Association commented, “… Your team did an absolutely awesome job for us. We’ve never had it so good.”
Thanks to the expertise of our Special Events Team, including project manager Joe Parker, lead power technician Michael Stevens, and lead temperature technician Jay Tinsley, Blue-Stream Services helped make the Shell Houston open a huge success. Their dedication to customer service and commitment to excellence in every aspect of what they do really sets the Blue-Stream Services team apart from the rest. They were able to install all the temporary systems in less than a week, and monitored each system around the clock for 10 days without interruption. This marks another great success for Blue-Stream Services.
